A fire broke out at Takinogawa No. 3 Elementary School in Tokyo's Kita Ward on June 19, prompting the evacuation or rescue of about 300 students and staff. Japanese media reported that 11 people were injured, including seven students who were taken to hospital after inhaling smoke and one student who suffered a fracture after falling. The fire started near a fourth-floor music room or music preparation room and was largely brought under control around noon, while authorities continue to investigate the cause.
