Pledges in action: the spirit of Communist Party of China members

2026 marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. As China embarks on implementing its 15th Five-Year Plan, members of the Communist Party of China (CPC) across the country continue to make extraordinary contributions in their respective fields.

Some race against time through earthquake rubble to save lives. Others travel overseas, to build bridges of friendship through their compassion and expertise. Some work at the grassroots level, bringing the rule of law, fairness, and public services closer to the people. Others dedicate themselves to scientific innovation, transforming research breakthroughs into engines of development. They are demonstrating responsibility and commitment through their daily work.

From earthquake-stricken Myanmar to the grasslands of Xinjiang, from ferry crossings on the Yangtze River to China's low-Earth orbit satellite constellation, from international medical assistance missions to the mediation of cross-border disputes, their stories span mountains, oceans and cultures. Yet they are inspired by and carrying on a shared spirit: a dedication to serving the people.

From June 22nd to July 3rd, CGTN will present the special series Pledges in Action. Through the real-life experiences of twelve CPC members, the series offers a closer look at the values, ideals, and sense of duty that drive them. It provides international audiences with unique perspectives on the vitality of a century-old governing party and the source of its enduring connection with the Chinese people.
