Against the backdrop of a deep-scale reshaping of global supply chains, the rise of protectionism and the countercurrent of "decoupling and chain breakage," the world economy is confronting unprecedented uncertainty. Yet amid this turbulence, China, steadfast in its resolve to continuously expand openness, is building a stable platform for international business cooperation – the fourth China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (CISCE).
From June 22 to 26, the CISCE is being held in Beijing. As a key venue through which China proactively responds to the international business community's urgent demand for deeper industry and supply chain collaboration, the expo's global attractiveness keeps rising.
To date, 676 domestic and foreign leading enterprises, specialized firms and industry organizations have confirmed participation, representing 85 countries, regions and international bodies. Foreign exhibitors account for 36.5% of the total, and more than 65% are Fortune 500 or industry-leading companies. These figures clearly indicate that the Expo has earned broad recognition from global manufacturers and has become an efficient hub for firms to find partners, chain resources and new cooperation opportunities.
The CISCE is organized into "six chains + one exhibition area," covering digital intelligence technology, advanced manufacturing, green agriculture and other industry chains, and, for the first time, includes a dedicated artificial intelligence zone. Its core innovation lies in using the "chain" as the organizing logic, gathering every link and production factor of modern industry on a single platform, thereby presenting a complete ecological picture of coordinated development across industry and supply chains. This exhibition concept rests on China's unique structural advantages.
China's manufacturing sector has retained the world's largest scale for 16 consecutive years, encompassing all industrial categories defined in the United Nations' International Standard Industrial Classification. This completeness generates pronounced economies of scale and scope as firms can obtain full-chain supporting services at lower search costs and with higher matching efficiency. In other words, a complete industry chain offers the world more efficient industrial collaboration and lower total costs, a systemic competitiveness that single-link advantages cannot replace.

At the same time, China's massive domestic market creates a dual pull from the consumption end to intermediate goods sectors. This attraction stems not only from the consumption potential of more than 1.4 billion people but also from the vast intermediate goods market nurtured by its advanced manufacturing base.
International firms, through the expo, can closely perceive the dynamic demand for Chinese-made intermediates as well as the broader market trends, enabling them to optimize product design and global deployment.
The experience of the United States' Cargill Co. is illustrative. During four consecutive years of expo participation, Cargill not only codeveloped product formulas with McDonald's in China but also, via a win-win network, deepened the linkage between its global supply chain resources and the Chinese domestic market, reaping synergistic benefits far beyond expectations.
The functions embodied by the CISCE have already surpassed those of a conventional exhibition; they display a forward-looking industrial organization model by using the "chain" as a nexus to connect, activate and amplify the effectiveness of each factor, thereby opening cooperative space for high-quality development of key industries and injecting certainty into the open cooperation of global industry and supply chains.
In an era where global economic governance is becoming increasingly fragmented, the expo's signal is clear and resolute. China is willing to share development opportunities with all countries and believes that globalized cooperation is the only path to mutual win-win outcomes.
The CISCE reflects China's commitment to high-level opening up and its responsibility to promote an open world economy. As the concept of "Linking the World, Co-creating the Future" continues to take root, the CISCE will contribute stability and constructive force to the unsettled world economy on ever broader and deeper scales.
