Alataw railway port in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region handled over 10 million tonnes of cargo in 2026 as of June 23, hitting the mark 41 days earlier than last year and setting a new record. With smooth coordination among railway, customs and border inspection authorities, the port has adopted a parallel operation model to slash non-operational waiting time. Currently, 128 China-Europe (Central Asia) freight train routes via Alataw connect 21 countries including Germany and Poland, carrying over 200 types of goods ranging from auto parts and machinery to electronics and daily necessities, boosting trade along the Belt and Road.
