China's 500-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), known as the "Sky Eye," has completed a major maintenance upgrade in Guizhou Province. New, domestically developed steel cables will support the telescope's 30-tonne feed cabin and are expected to improve its long-term reliability. Engineers will also conduct load and reliability tests before normal scientific operations resume.
