China edged the Netherlands 65–60 in a warm‑up game in Hangzhou. Portland Trail Blazers center Yang Hansen returned to the national team for the first time since the Asian Cup qualifier in February last season, finishing with 7 points and 8 rebounds.

China's starting five were Liao Sanning, Wang Junjie, He Xining, Zhu Jinlong and Yang, a line‑up that represented a significant change from the previous friendly against Australia.

Both teams started brightly and traded scores and China trailed 20–22 after the first quarter. In the second, the Netherlands led by four before Yang and Liao combined inside and out to put China ahead, the hosts taking a 38–34 lead into halftime.

China then gave the ball away repeatedly in the third. In the fourth, Yang and Liao helped open a gap and Li Hongquan's timely three pushed the lead to eight, but China went quiet late and the Netherlands led 60–59 with under a minute to play. Liao then produced six straight points to secure a 65–60 win and a second consecutive friendly victory.

Overall scoring was inefficient and cohesion was lacking. Liao led the team with 21 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. Gao Shiyan added 13, Zhu 9, Wang 5, and Li 3 with 6 rebounds.

China now turn their attention to the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers: they face Japan in Shenyang on July 3 and travel to the Republic of Korea to meet Chinese Taipei on July 6.
