Former England striker Michael Owen scored with fans when he made good on his promise to visit a grassroots football tournament organized by villagers in southwest China's Guizhou Province on Wednesday.

The Village Super League, or "Cun Chao" in Chinese, went viral in 2023, earning praise from Owen, who sent a video message in support, and helped catapult the tournament to global fame.

Three years later, during his visit to Rongjiang County, Owen finally got to kick the ball around with youngsters.
