The Venezuelan Red Cross is actively responding to the earthquakes in La Guaira, Venezuela. Field reports have shown the coastal region of La Guaira, north of the capital, Caracas, suffered some of the heaviest damage and casualties.

The city is the capital of the eponymous state of Venezuela (formerly named Vargas) and the country's main port. Health Minister Carlos Alvarado told state-run media on Thursday this round of earthquakes has killed around 235 people and left more than 4,300 others injured.
