Dunhuang culture shines in Ottawa: A Silk Road dialogue across continents

Dunhuang's millennia-old cultural legacy made its way across the Pacific on June 25, as the "Global Linking of Dunhuang Culture – Canadian Tour" was held at the Chinese Embassy in Canada.

Chinese Ambassador to Canada Wang Di noted when delivering a remake at the event that Dunhuang stands as a remarkable example of the integration of civilizations along the ancient Silk Road, and that Dunhuang culture offers valuable inspiration for enhancing mutual understanding and deepening exchanges among different civilizations today. China stands ready to work with Canada to achieve more fruitful outcomes in bilateral people-to-people and cultural exchanges and cooperation.

The event includes a special lecture on Dunhuang culture, traditional Dunhuang music and dance performances, a photo exhibition of the Dunhuang Grottoes, and the "Discover Dunhuang" VR program. Through these immersive activities, guests gained a firsthand appreciation of the unique charm of Dunhuang culture.

More than 100 guests from various sectors in Canada, along with representatives of the event's co-organizers, including the World Affairs Press, the Dunhuang Academy and the People's Government of Dunhuang City, participated in the event.
