Families search Caracas hospitals for loved ones after Venezuela earthquakes

Families searched hospitals in Caracas on June 26 for loved ones missing after two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela. Hospitals in the capital and neighboring La Guaira were overwhelmed with casualties, including injured children separated from their families. At Jose Maria Vargas Hospital, residents checked patient lists and posted missing-person notices as ambulances continued to arrive with patients. Officials said at least 1,430 people had been killed and about 3,200 injured, while search-and-rescue efforts continued in the hardest-hit areas.
