International journalists experience culture and development in Xinjiang

More than two dozen journalists from 19 countries have visited the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwest China to gain firsthand insight into its development.

Since June 18, the 28 journalists toured cities including Hotan, Turpan and the regional capital Urumqi. They saw first-hand Xinjiang's progress in economic development, ecological conservation, cultural heritage inheritance and opening up. On their itinerary was a trip to a one-gigawatt integrated solar thermal and photovoltaic power project in Turpan, and the 9th China-Eurasia Expo in Urumqi. The journalists shared their impressions of Xinjiang's economic dynamism.
