As this year marks the 105th anniversary of its founding, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has launched a Party-wide campaign to guide its members, especially officials, in establishing and practicing a correct understanding of governance performance since late February.
The campaign, which will run until July, marks the latest effort by Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, to strengthen the Party's self-governance.
For the CPC, Xi has said, the ultimate gauge of governance performance is the improvement of the people's well-being.
