Chinese community groups mobilize quake relief in Venezuela

Chinese community groups in Venezuela mobilized relief efforts after two powerful earthquakes, measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, respectively, struck the country on June 24. In the wake of the quakes, local Chinese associations and chambers of commerce worked overnight to collect rescue tools, generators, emergency lighting equipment, first-aid materials and daily necessities, sending supplies to frontline rescue teams and affected families. The Chinese Embassy in Venezuela said overseas Chinese had donated around 500 tonnes of relief supplies as of Sunday, benefiting nearly 10,000 families. At the Club Social Chino de Caracas, community members gathered to sort, unload and deliver goods, with volunteers of different ages joining the effort.
