Venezuela acting president: Following the June 24 earthquakes, the Venezuelan government has launched damage assessments, set up temporary shelters and begun planning new housing projects. Power has been restored to much of La Guaira state, while road and water services are gradually recovering. Search and rescue operations are continuing.
