Huangluo Yao Village lies at the foot of the Longji Terraced Fields in south China's Guangxi, with the Jinjiang River flowing right through it. The village is made up entirely of wooden stilt houses, built into the mountainside and scattered gracefully along the riverbanks. These structures have stood firm for centuries without a single iron nail, held together entirely by mortise-and-tenon joinery. The houses typically have three levels: the ground floor for livestock and storage, the second floor for daily living, and the well-ventilated top floor as a granary. Layer upon layer, the wooden houses blend harmoniously with the green hills and clear waters, telling the story of the Red Yao people's wisdom and craftsmanship passed down through generations.
