China has opened a new high-speed rail corridor through the Qinling Mountains. In just over four years, builders completed the 257-kilometer line between Xi'an and Shiyan, designed for speeds of 350 kilometers per hour. The route crosses complex mountain terrain, with major tunnels and bridges. It links China's inland northwest with the Yangtze River region. It means faster travel, stronger regional links, and another showcase of China's engineering strength.
