Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Tuesday in Beijing.

In recent years, under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of the two countries, the advancement of China-Saudi Arabia relations has maintained sound momentum, said Han.

Noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Saudi Arabia, Han said China is willing to work with Saudi Arabia to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, deepen political mutual trust, enhance high-level exchanges, and expand practical cooperation to promote new progress in bilateral relations.

As important members of the Global South, China and Saudi Arabia should enhance communication and coordination and contribute to maintaining regional and global peace and stability, Han added.

Noting that the comprehensive strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and China has reached an unprecedented high level, Faisal said Saudi Arabia firmly abides by the one-China principle and is ready to work with China to continue advancing bilateral relations. The two sides should strengthen cooperation in multilateral fields and jointly promote regional and world peace and stability, he added.
