China's top political advisor Wang Huning has called for improving policy research and offering practical proposals to support the building of a robust domestic market.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks at a consultative meeting on research findings presented by the central committees of non-CPC political parties and representatives of personages without party affiliation.
Referencing their research and policy recommendations on the issue, Wang stressed that a strong domestic market provides strategic support for fostering the new development pattern and promoting high-quality development. It also serves the important task of comprehensively deepening reform and building a high-standard socialist market economy.
He called for focusing on the objectives for the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030) and conducting in-depth research on key issues related to building a robust domestic market, so as to provide more substantive and practical policy recommendations for the Party and the government.
Representatives of several non-CPC political parties and personages without party affiliation presented research findings and offered policy suggestions at the meeting, which was presided over by Li Ganjie, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.
