International search-and-rescue teams pulled a 12-year-old boy alive from the rubble in Macuto, La Guaira, five days after two powerful earthquakes devastated parts of Venezuela. Emergency teams said the boy was rescued by Ecuador's USAR ECU-01 team in coordination with rescuers from the Dominican Republic. Officials said the death toll from the quakes had risen above 1,900, with more than 10,500 people injured. Meanwhile, thousands of displaced residents are also facing worsening humanitarian conditions.
