A special exhibition on China-US people-to-people friendship is underway at the Overseas Chinese History Museum of China in Beijing.

More than 20 foreign faculty members and students from Beijing-based universities, including Beijing Foreign Studies University, Peking University, and the University of International Business and Economics, visited the exhibition, viewing historical artifacts, including 19th-century railroad tools used by Chinese workers, World War II fundraising badges issued by United China Relief and photos from the US table tennis team's historic visit to China.

During exchanges, visitors said the shared history of cooperation offers valuable lessons for building trust and strengthening grassroots ties today.

"In that era, the establishment of contact between China and the United States was uncommon. The fact that they were able to maintain stable interactions and engage in dialogue held great symbolic significance, demonstrating that the establishment of China-US relations was inevitable," said an American faculty member at the University of International Business and Economics.

Graham Allison, a renowned US political scholar and founding dean of the Harvard Kennedy School, said the history of friendly cooperation between the US and China runs deep, and neither side should be constrained by differences or estrangement.

"By working together in various ways, the two peoples can make both nations stronger and the world more peaceful and prosperous," Allison said.
