Xi Jinping calls on Party members to rely on the people to achieve great feats

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Wednesday stressed the importance of relying on the people to make great achievements.

Addressing a gathering to celebrate the 105th founding anniversary of the CPC, Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said upholding and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics is a common cause of the Party and Chinese people of all ethnic groups.

On the new journey, the whole Party must be dedicated and enterprising and continue to break new ground, Xi said.

He urged coordinated efforts to fully and faithfully apply the new development philosophy, foster a new development paradigm and pursue high-quality development.

Xi also underscored the importance of pursuing a people-centered approach to development and advancing whole-process people's democracy.

He reiterated his call to strengthen the great unity of Chinese people of all ethnic groups and the great unity of all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation at home and abroad, give full play to the people's enthusiasm, initiative and creativity, and gather a mighty force for advancing Chinese modernization.
