Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on Wednesday called for continuously building a community with a shared future for humanity.
Addressing a gathering to celebrate the 105th founding anniversary of the CPC, Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said that with accelerated changes unseen in a century, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and transformation, and humanity has once again come to a crossroads.
On the new journey ahead, the Party should respond to people's aspiration and follow the overarching trend, hold high the banner of peace, development, cooperation and mutual benefits, and uphold common values of humanity, Xi said.
He called for building a new type of international relations, implementing the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative and the Global Governance Initiative, so as to lend more positive energy to world peace and development.
