Chinese company debuts full-size hyper-bionic humanoid robot

Chinese tech company UBTECH introduced its full-size hyper-bionic humanoid robot, the UWORLD U1 series, at its global launch event in Shenzhen, south China's Guangdong Province, on June 30.

At the event, the company introduced the UWORLD full-size hyper-bionic humanoid robot, featuring a fully proprietary technology stack spanning bionic skin, embodied intelligence hardware, operating systems, an emotional AI model and mass production capabilities.

The product is equipped with an emotional AI model designed for long-term companionship, capable of accurately recognizing more than 20 subtle user emotions.

Designed for a wide range of applications – including daily companionship, emotional support, reception and hospitality, cultural tourism and exhibitions, as well as scientific research and education – the robots can perform 90% of basic human movements. They can also simulate subtle facial expressions, such as blinking, smiling, and tilting the head.

The company said orders for the UWORLD U1 had exceeded 13,361 units across all sales channels, with delivery targeted for this year.
