International observers have spoken highly of Chinese President Xi Jinping's speech at a gathering in celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), saying that it embodies the Party's people-centered philosophy – a key secret behind China's consistent achievements under the CPC's leadership, and carries far-reaching significance for world peace and development.
Geeganage Weerasinghe, general secretary of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka, told China Media Group (CMG) that Xi has underscored that "the country is its people, and the people are the country."
Under his leadership, the Chinese people have fostered new quality productive forces, pursued high-quality development and achieved self-reliance in science and technology, fully demonstrating the significant political strength of socialism with Chinese characteristics, Weerasinghe said.
Chinese modernization has shattered the myth that "modernization equals Westernization," he said.
Yuriy Pikalov, a professor at Russia's Pacific National University, said from Xi's speech, it can be identified that a key to the CPC's success is its deep roots in the people.
As the world's largest ruling political party, the CPC earns its standing through the people's profound trust, Pikalov said, adding that the Party always takes the pursuit of people's well-being as its mission.
International observers also noted that the CPC's successful experience delivers important enlightenment and reference for other countries and political parties worldwide.
Milos Vucevic, president of the Serbian Progressive Party, said that under the CPC's leadership, China has scored remarkable development achievements, especially in the areas of poverty alleviation and modernization.
"We must learn the core logic behind these accomplishments from the CPC," Vucevic told CMG.
Pino Arlacchi, former UN under-secretary-general, said China, guided by Xi, ranks among the world's front-runners in areas such as economy, science and technology, and culture – a remarkable feat.
The CPC demonstrates tremendous strengths in governing for the people, organizational capacity and safeguarding the international order, he said, adding that China's vision deserves to be studied by all other countries.
