On July 1, 77 students from various US universities, including Yale University and the University of Chicago, visited Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, to explore China's independently developed high-temperature superconducting maglev engineering prototype and test line.
During the visit, the students operated a high-temperature superconducting maglev model, rode the engineering prototype for a smooth ride experience and took part in interactive maglev experiments, gaining a close-up look at China's latest achievements in rail transit innovation.
The program is hosted by Southwest Jiaotong University and will run through July 4. Participants will also visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the Sanxingdui Museum and a humanoid robot training facility to experience local culture and China's technological development.
