Farewell ceremonies for Iran's former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a US-Israeli attack on February 28, start on July 4 and conclude with his burial in the northeastern city of Mashhad on July 9.

According to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei, the tribute and farewell ceremonies begin in the capital Tehran with the participation of personalities and popular groups, and continue in the afternoon with the presence of high-ranking foreign officials and political figures.
