Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will pay a state visit to China from July 5 to 11 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry on Friday.

This is the first time Nandi-Ndaitwah visits China since her presidency. In addition to Beijing, she will also visit Guangdong and Sichuan provinces, according to Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

China and Namibia are traditional comprehensive strategic partners. Since the establishment of the diplomatic relations 36 years ago, the relationship between the two countries has withstood the test of the ever-changing international landscape and grown from strength to strength, Guo said.
