On July 2, a group of 77 students from leading US universities, including Yale University and the University of Chicago, visited the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan. They observed the giant pandas up close, toured the Panda Museum and learned about China's latest efforts in giant panda conservation, breeding and scientific research, gaining a deeper appreciation of the country's commitment to biodiversity conservation.

Later in the day, the students traveled to the Sanxingdui archaeological site in Guanghan, Sichuan Province. They explored the area's rich cultural heritage, joined local residents in making dumplings and playing mahjong and experienced the relaxed pace of local life. The group also visited the Sanxingdui Museum, where they admired remarkable artifacts from the ancient Shu civilization, discovering the unique appeal of Bashu culture through its wildlife, history and local traditions.
