A former Egyptian foreign minister has urged caution regarding the prospects of US-Iran negotiations, saying the current framework should not be viewed as a final agreement.

Speaking to CGTN at the World Peace Forum in Beijing, Mohamed El Orabi said significant differences remain and warned that resolving such complex issues would likely take much longer than the proposed 60-day timeline.

He stressed that preventing another regional conflict must remain the immediate priority, while calling for stability in the Gulf and urging restraint to avoid further escalation in the Middle East.

El Orabi added that any lasting agreement would require patience, sustained diplomacy, and a commitment from all parties to prevent tensions from escalating further.
