Poll: 77% Americans say founders would be disappointed in the US today

A new Gallup poll reveals that nearly 8 in 10 Americans believe the nation's founding fathers would be disappointed with the state of the country today. The figure has risen sharply - from 71% in 2013 and just 42% in 2001. The survey also highlights a striking generational divide: only 8% of Americans aged 18 to 34 say the US has made a 'great deal' of progress. Gallup, a global leader in analytics and polling, has been tracking these social and political trends for decades.
