Seventy-seven American students from leading universities, including Yale University and the University of Chicago, visited People's Park in Chengdu to attend a China-US youth tea gathering event on July 4.

Themed “Youth Alliance, the Youngest Chengdu,” the event featured a series of immersive experiences in Sichuan's intangible cultural heritage.

The performance of long-spouted teapot tea art opened the event, with the tea artists' graceful and fluid movements drawing rounds of applause.

Xiao Demei, a national-level representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage, presented a live performance of Sichuan Opera and invited the American students on stage to learn traditional opera movements and participate in interactive experiences.

In the musical segment, performances of the pipa and guqin instruments filled the air with elegant melodies.

Traditional puppet shows and martial arts performances were also staged, earning warm applause from the audience.

As the final stop on the American students' trip to Sichuan, the tea gathering served as a platform for cultural exchange, allowing the students to experience the charm of local culture.
