A two‑week summer camp for young people from China's Taiwan region set sail on July 4 — literally! The opening ceremony took place aboard a cruise ship gliding along Shanghai's iconic Huangpu River.

More than 500 people from various cities across China's Taiwan region are taking part in a wide range of activities, from a baseball culture festival and AI workshops to e-sports tournaments and immersive city tours across Shanghai.

What began as a small-scale e-sports competition in 2017 has evolved over the past decade into something much larger. Now, the Haishanghui camp has grown into a flagship platform for cross-strait youth exchanges, bringing together sports, technology, culture, and more.

And the experience extends beyond Shanghai. Participants will also visit nearby cities such as Yangzhou in Jiangsu Province, taking part in additional exchange activities along the way, building new connections and broadening horizons with each stop.
