In a last-minute logistical change, officials transferred the coffins of the late leader and his family members directly to Azadi Square in the west of Tehran, drawing massive crowds who marched to join the procession and bid their final farewell before the bodies are transferred to other cities.

Throughout the three days of mourning, a powerful and singular sentiment dominated the atmosphere. From the Grand Mosalla to the streets of the capital, the overwhelming majority of the massive crowd united under one central slogan, chanting and demanding direct revenge for the blood of their late Supreme Leader.
