An animal shelter owner in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region risked his safety to evacuate dogs and cats from severe flooding. Mo Xingjian, who runs a small shelter in Nanning, waded through floodwaters to rescue the animals after their enclosures were inundated. Working alone, he could only move two dogs at a time while keeping cats on walls and rooftops above the rising water. A co-worker said all the animals are safe for now, but several dogs and more than 50 cats are still waiting to be evacuated.
