21 dead in landslide in northwest China's Gansu

Twenty-one people were killed after a landslide struck a township in Tanchang County, Longnan City, northwest China's Gansu Province, local officials said on Wednesday.

The landslide, which trapped 33 people, occurred at Renzang Village in Nanhe Township at around 6:56 a.m. on Tuesday. Local emergency management department, fire department and local police immediately mobilized rescue forces to carry out relief operations. 

Seven other people suffered minor injuries. Search and rescue operations at the scene have been completed, the officials added.
