From the high plateaus of southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, opportunities can seem distant. 

But for Pema Lhamo, a young girl from a herding family in Nagqu, which sits at an average elevation of over 4,500 meters, boarding school has opened the door to a top university.  

CGTN visits her village to trace her journey from the edge of the plateau to a future full of promise.
