The International Seminar on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Its Relevance to the World was held on Thursday in Yinchuan, northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.
Under the theme "Path to Modernization: Takeaways from China's Theory and Practice in Poverty Alleviation," the seminar brought together more than 120 participants from over 50 countries, including leaders of foreign political parties, diplomatic envoys in China, think tank scholars and media representatives.
Participants congratulated the Communist Party of China (CPC) on its 105th anniversary, saying that since the 18th CPC National Congress, under the strong leadership of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, and the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, China has achieved the historic feat of eliminating absolute poverty, marking a milestone in the progress of human civilization.
They also said China's experience has demonstrated that poverty is not an inevitable destiny and has provided valuable insights and practical experience for developing countries pursuing their own paths to modernization and poverty reduction.
