Alexander Zverev produced one of his best performances on grass to defeat Taylor Fritz 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 in London on Wednesday, ending a seven-match losing streak against the American and advancing to the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time in his career.
Germany's World No. 3 needed just one hour and 59 minutes to dismantle one of his most difficult opponents and keep alive his bid for a second straight Grand Slam title.
Zverev set the tone with dominant serving and aggressive returning, repeatedly denying Fritz opportunities to dictate points. He saved early break points in the opening set before tightening his grip on the contest, while Fritz was hampered by a right knee issue that required a medical timeout in the second set.
Despite returning to the court, the 2024 US Open runner-up struggled to match the reigning French Open champion's consistency from the baseline, en route to dropping the second set as well.
Zverev raised his level again in the third set, breaking the World No. 7 twice before sealing the victory with a series of clinical serves and powerful backhand winners. The triumph set up a last-four meeting with British wildcard Arthur Fery for a place in this weekend's championship showdown at the All England Club.

Fery continued his dream run with a 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-0 victory over Flavio Cobolli, producing another composed display to reach his first Grand Slam semifinal. The World No. 114 broke the Italian once to claim the opening set before recovering from an early break in the second, taking control in a tiebreaker to move within a set of victory.
The home wildcard grabbed complete control at the start of the third set, breaking Cobolli again and pulling further away as the World No. 10's error count mounted. Strong from both the baseline and at the net, the 23-year-old wrapped up the proceedings in two hours and 14 minutes without dropping another game.
The win kept Fery unbeaten against Cobolli, after also defeating the 24-year-old in January at the Australian Open.

On the women's side, Linda Noskova reached her first Grand Slam semifinal as well, following a 6-3, 7-5 dispatching of Elise Mertens at Wimbledon. The Czech ninth seed controlled the match with powerful serves and aggressive groundstrokes, overcoming a late push from her Belgian opponent to seal the straight-sets triumph.
Noskova got off to a fast start by breaking early and using her booming baseline shots to keep Mertens under constant pressure. After taking the opener, she faced a tougher challenge in the second set as the World No. 27 fought back, but Noskova stayed composed in the closing stages to see out the victory.
The 21-year-old has maintained her impressive form on grass after lifting the trophy in Berlin before heading to the All England Club. She will face Marta Kostyuk next, with the winner securing a spot in the title match.

Kostyuk made it into the last four at Wimbledon for the first time after outclassing Jasmine Paolini 6-3, 6-2. The 23-year-old put together an aggressive display from the baseline, using powerful forehands and sharp returns to dominate the 2024 tournament runner-up.
Ukraine's World No. 13 took control early, breaking Paolini twice in the opening set and never allowing the 17th-ranked Italian to settle into the match. She continued to dictate rallies in the second set, reeling off five straight games to turn a competitive clash into a straight-sets stomping.
The victory sent Kostyuk into the second Grand Slam semifinal of her career, and second of the season, after also reaching the last four at the French Open.
