The Office of the State Council Work Safety Committee on Saturday has mandated supervised oversight of the investigation into the major fire that killed 28 people at a shoe factory in Jinjiang, east China's Fujian Province.
The office has dispatched an on-site supervisory team led by the National Fire and Rescue Administration to oversee and guide the investigation.
It required local authorities to determine the cause of the fire and put forward measures to prevent similar incidents.
