Countries across the Middle East heightened security measures on Sunday, activating air defenses, issuing emergency alerts and urging de‑escalation, as the region braced for broader fallout from a new round of US-Iranian military exchanges.

The latest escalation came after the US military announced a new round of strikes against Iranian targets. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory attacks against what it described as US interests in the region. The exchange has raised concerns about a broader regional spillover, particularly around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy shipping route.

In Bahrain, air raid sirens sounded multiple times during the day. The Interior Ministry urged residents to remain calm and seek shelter in the nearest buildings as authorities monitored the evolving situation.

The United Arab Emirates said its air defense forces were intercepting incoming missiles and drones, while Qatar issued security alerts to mobile phones across the country after explosions were heard in the capital Doha. Witnesses reported seeing interception activity in the skies above the city.

Qatar's Ministry of Interior later said three people, including a child, were injured by falling shrapnel during interception operations. The ministry said emergency response plans had been activated and security agencies remained on full alert to safeguard the public and maintain essential services.

Jordan's armed forces said three missiles launched from the direction of Iran landed in different parts of the country early Sunday, causing minor property damage but no casualties. The military said units were placed on maximum readiness and reiterated that Jordan would not allow its territory or airspace to be used in any conflict threatening national security. According to Iranian state media, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had targeted the Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan as part of its response to US actions.

In Oman, security sources reported that parts of Musandam Governorate, located along the southern side of the Strait of Hormuz, were struck by drones. Omani authorities have not yet announced the origin of the drones or provided further details about the incident.

Amid the tensions, Pakistan called for restraint. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar urged both Washington and Tehran to pursue de-escalation and dialogue during a phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Pakistan said diplomacy remained the only viable path toward lasting regional peace and stability.
