Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with his Kazakh counterpart Yermek Kosherbayev in Beijing on Monday, with the two sides pledging to deepen practical cooperation and strengthen strategic mutual trust.

Wang said China-Kazakhstan relations have maintained strong momentum and demonstrated resilience and vitality.

China is willing to work with Kazakhstan to carry forward their long-standing friendship, improve people's well-being, consolidate strategic mutual trust and pursue common development, Wang said.

He added that China supports Kazakhstan in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions and is ready to expand exchanges at all levels, share governance experience and advance practical cooperation across various fields.

Wang welcomed Kazakhstan's decision to join the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed) and praised its constructive role in multilateral platforms, including the China-Central Asia mechanism, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.

Kosherbayev said Kazakhstan regards cooperation with China as a foreign policy priority and that mutual trust and friendship between the two countries would not be affected by any third party.

He reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to the one-China principle and expressed willingness to deepen bilateral cooperation and coordination on international and regional affairs.

The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern.

After the talks, Kosherbayev signed the IOMed Convention on behalf of the Kazakh government, with Wang present.
