The China–Russia "Joint Sea-2026" joint exercise concluded on Monday at a naval port in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
The exercise, themed "jointly responding to maritime security threats," included activities during the in-port planning phase such as map-based drills, professional seminars, ship visits, a friendly basketball game, and a reception. After transitioning to the at-sea phase, participating forces from both sides coordinated closely and worked in seamless cooperation, completing live-force drills across multiple subjects including joint reconnaissance, air defense and anti-missile operations, strikes against surface targets, and joint submarine rescue and lifesaving.
After the exercise concluded, some forces from both sides proceeded to relevant waters in the Pacific to conduct joint maritime patrols.
