They're still stuck in 2016. The South China Sea isn't.

On July 12, the US, the Philippines, Japan and 11 other countries issued a joint statement marking the 10th anniversary of the so-called South China Sea arbitration. China's position, however, remains unchanged: The so-called award is illegal, null and void, and has no binding force. Yet beyond the political rhetoric lies another story. Traveling through Malaysia and Indonesia, CGTN's Liu Xin hears from the people whose lives are shaped by these waters every day.
