Iran's military command said Monday it will not let the US interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement came after President Donald Trump suggested the US would likely take over the vital shipping lane and should be reimbursed for its control. Iran had announced the closure of the strait over the weekend.
The escalating confrontation has sent oil prices higher and cast doubt on a fragile interim deal to halt the conflict.
