Four-second rescue: Police officer leaps into flood to save slipping woman

Severe flooding hit a residential community in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, northeast China, on July 13, following torrential rain. It prompted emergency departments and local rescuers to deploy front-loader construction trucks to evacuate trapped residents.

During the rescue operations, a woman lost her balance and accidentally slipped into the rising deep water. At this critical moment, auxiliary police officer Sun Peng leaped into the waist-deep floodwater without hesitation.

In less than four seconds, Sun successfully rescued the woman, who suffered only a brief fit of coughing from swallowing water.
