Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet arrived in Shanghai on Thursday to attend the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance.

The conference brings together government officials, business leaders, researchers and representatives of international organizations to discuss advances in AI and global AI governance.

In 2025, China and Cambodia signed a memorandum of understanding on deepening cooperation in AI, pledging to strengthen collaboration in AI development and governance and ensure AI technologies benefit people in both countries.
