Several drones were intercepted over Erbil, the capital of Iraq's northern Kurdistan Region, on the night of July 15 during a drone attack near the US consulate.

A Kurdish security source told China Media Group that three drones were initially shot down above the consulate area, with no casualties reported among civilians or security personnel. Kurdish security authorities later said a total of eight drones had been intercepted over Erbil that night. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
