During the 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue in Xishuangbanna, southwest China's Yunnan Province, former Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khalid praised China's efforts to protect wild elephants, saying the approach reflects peaceful coexistence between humans and animals. He said China can share its conservation experience, knowledge and technology with developing countries, especially through Belt and Road cooperation.
