Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for high-quality urban renewal to advance city modernization, stressing the importance of building people-centered cities. 

He made the remarks during an inspection tour in Shanghai on July 15. 

President Xi visited a residential neighborhood where decades-old housing has been renovated, bringing long-awaited changes to hundreds of families. CGTN's Huang Yue visited the neighborhood and spoke with residents there.
