Chinese President Xi Jinping noted on Friday that China has embraced AI with open arms in recent years, and the core smart economy industries are worth at least 1 trillion yuan (around $147.64 billion).

Delivering a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, Xi said intelligent manufacturing in China has become another shining hallmark of Chinese modernization.
